I've
been married since 1970 to my husband Jerry and have 3 children,
Maggie
30, married and a lawyer, Tom 27, a restaurant manager and
engaged, and
Stephen 24 a college student. I grew up in Indio, California
but our family
moved to Newport Beach every summer when I was young to
escape the heat and
one of my main goals while growing up was live at the beach
rather than the
desert. I graduated from USC with a BA in Economics after
being accepted in
the Residence Program for High School Seniors, and worked
for an insurance
company and then Bank of America before I had my children.
After the
children were born, I helped my husband in his business
and volunteered. I'
ve been PTA President of Harbour View School and Marina
High School, as well
as positions on the governing boards of School Site Counsel
and After School
Achievement Program, cub scout den mother, active in little
league and AYSO
and all the other myriad of other activities children get
into. I was
Director of the Huntington Harbour Junior Sailing program
for many years.
Also Yachtsman of the Year for Huntington Harbour Yacht
Club and Yachtswoman
of the Year for the Association of San Pedro Bay Yacht Clubs.
I was Training
Director for Area J (So. Calif., Nevada, Arizona, Utah)
for the United
States Sailing Association. Also Director for the International
Sabot
Association and Vice Chairman of the Southern California
Youth Yacht Raciing
Association
I
have first hand knowledge of working with homeowner's associations
because
our first home in Huntington Harbour was in Tennis Estates,
a townhouse
development. I not only served on many committees over the
years we lived
there, but also served on the Board of Directors and was
President for two
years.
I
also have been active in various school and community groups
including the
presidency of one of the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic
groups, as well as
many positions on the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic board
level.
